Study of fan efficiency
Study of velocity distribution in the pipe
Study of velocity distribution behind a cylinder subject to transverse incident flow
Investigation of pressure distribution around a cylinder subject to transverse incident flow
Familiarization with friction losses in pipes, pipe bends and pipe angles
Conducting measurement of the power consumption of a fan
Conducting measurement of the power consumption of a pump
Determination of the related characteristic curve
Conducting measurement of the total pressure and the static pressure in intake pipe
Study of pressure distribution over the cross section
Study of velocity distribution over the cross section
Conducting measurement of the total pressure in the wake of a cylinder
Determination of drag coefficient from the pressure distribution in the wake of a cylinder
Study of wake depression
Conducting measurement of the total pressure in the wake of a cylinder
Study the influence of differently shaped pipe inlets:  uninterrupted air inlet and sudden enlargement
Recording the cooling curve of a copper cylinder subject to incident flow
Determining the heat transfer coefficients from the cooling curve
The System Comprising the Following:
1.Air Flow Base Unit
Minimum Technical Specifications Required (like or better than):
Radial fan with power consumption: 90W, speed: 2800rpm, flow rate: 450m3/h and differential pressure: 480Pa
Delivery pipe with outer diameter: 105mm and inner diameter: 99 mm
transparent Intake pipe with outer diameter: 140mm and inner diameter: 133mm
connector for Pitot tube
Throttle valve for adjusting the air flow
Switch box with pressure transducer
Pressure measuring range: ±10mbar and 2x ±1mbar
Temperature measuring range: 0 to 200°C
Data acquisition unit with software
USB interface
PC Core i7, DVD+/-RW, 8GB RAM, 1TB Hard Disk Drive, Optical Mouse, Multimedia Keyboard, Monitor (21") LED
2.Table Top Digital Power Meter
Minimum Technical Specifications Required (like or better than):
Should be able to measure the consumed electrical active power of a consumer
power measurement should be unrelated to form factor
Power measuring range: 0 to 300W

3.Electronic Pressure Sensor Unit
Minimum Technical Specifications Required (like or better than):
Electronic pressure sensor
Pitot tube with outer diameter: 0.70mm with inner diameter: 0.40mm and vertical adjustment: 0 to 130mm
Should be able to measure static and dynamic pressure
Should be capable of detection of the position electronically
4.Rotatable Cylinder Unit
Minimum Technical Specifications Required (like or better than):
Rotatable cylinder with outer diameter: 25mm and inner diameter: 21mm, radial hole for pressure measurement at any angle adjustment
Angle adjustment with scale
Potentiometer
Capability of electronic detection of the angle
5.Pipe Elements Unit
Minimum Technical Specifications Required (like or better than):
Straight pipe section with flange length: 1200mm and inner diameter: 50mm
Straight pipe section with length: 990mm, two interchangeable pipe inlets: sudden enlargement or uninterrupted air inlet
90° pipe bend
90° pipe angle
Should include measuring points on straight pipe sections for pressure measurement
Should include measuring points at pipe inlets for velocity measurement
6.Heat Transfer Oven
Minimum Technical Specifications Required (like or better than):
Oven with heating power: 100W
Copper cylinder with integrated temperature sensor
Cylinder should be heated in the oven to approximately 120°C
Oven should keep the temperature constant
Measured values should be displayed and analyzed via air flow base unit software
